Richa Chadha is set to receive the prestigious Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres award, one of the highest honours bestowed by the French government.
This recognition aligns her with notable figures like Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and Guneet Monga, who have been acknowledged for their significant contributions to the world of cinema.
Richa Chadha To Receive 'Chevalier Des Arts et des Letters'
Jean-Marc Sere-Charlet, the Consul General of France in Mumbai, is scheduled to present the award to Richa Chadha on October 28. This prestigious recognition will be conferred during the Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival, commencing on October 27.
Moreover, in total, the Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival is set to showcase 12 French films. Additionally, this year marks the first occasion where ten film professionals from France have been extended invitations to the festival, providing them with opportunities for interactive sessions and participation.
Chadha’s critically acclaimed 2015 film, Masaan, was a collaboration between India and France and received recognition when it was screened in the 'Un Certain Regard' section at the Cannes Film Festival. The film also garnered two awards. Furthermore, for her debut home production film, Girls Will Be Girls, Richa Chadha has been supported by both the French grant 'Aide aux Cinemas du Monde' (ACM) and new incentives introduced by Indian authorities.
