‘World premiere alert’: Vikramaditya Motwane announces screening date of Indi(r)a’s Emergency

Bollywood filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane on Friday took to the photo-sharing website Instagram to announce the world premiere of his much-awaited docu-series Indi(r)a’s Emergency. The 46-year-old director mentioned that it will be screened at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
Indi(r)a’s Emergency is reportedly a three-part documentary series that highlights one of the most controversial chapters in post-Independence Indian history when a nationwide state of emergency was declared by Indira Gandhi. Interestingly, it is made only through archival material and some animation. No fictionalisation has been done.
It contains footage from all over the world, including – the BBC, British Pathe and Getty. It is also being said that Indi(r)a’s Emergency was made as a 90-minute feature to target film festivals worldwide.
